Prewedding Holland Windmills

Prewedding photography in Zaanse Schans: iconic views

When you think of the Netherlands, you probably think of 3 things: windmills, wooden shoes and tulip fields. And for good reasons. Holland is scattered with windmills all throughout the country. You can find the most concentrated area of windmills in the Netherlands (and perhaps in the world) in the village of Zaanse Schans, 20 km from Amsterdam. Tucked away in the Dutch countryside, this beautiful village is home to some of the most iconic symbols of Holland, the windmills. Here you will find colorful windmills lined up along the water making for a beautiful backdrop for your pre wedding photoshoot in the Netherlands.

Zaanse Schans has more than just windmills. In fact, this village is surrounded by old traditional Dutch houses connected by small bridges. You will have great opportunities to see how people live in the countryside of Holland. The locals are so friendly here that they may wave at you from their windows. Each house has its unique charm colorfully painted in different shades of green and it really makes for some great photo opportunities to capture your prewedding shoot in the Netherlands.

Dutch Country Life

A prewedding photoshoot in Zaanse Schans would not be complete without some photos in the farmland. As we walk through the village, you will see the wooden shoes from farmers scattered around. This is such typical farm culture in Holland that the locals made a wall full of colorful wooden shoes. As we continue through the nature area, there are plenty of animals waiting for some attention to get pet. Here you can really feel the tranquility and the slow-paced way of life, away from the busy streets of Amsterdam.

As you can see, the windmill village of Zaanse Schans is a perfect combination with a prewedding photoshoot in Amsterdam and the flower gardens and tulip fields of Keukenhof!
