Lotte and Ben got married on a beautiful summer day in June at one of my favorite castles in the Netherlands, at the majestic Kasteel Heeswijk. This medieval 11th century castle sits in the south of the country in the middle of the forrest surrounded by a large moat. The towers, draw bridge, and the surrounding natural landscape make this castle a perfect location for photos.
Lotte and Ben both got ready at the castle alongside their cute little dog who, I must say, looked dashing in his suit. After getting dressed, Lotte headed up the bridge where Ben was waiting with the bouquet while their day guests looked on from a distance. As soon as he turned around, the emotions got the better of him. First looks are always fun to photograph because you never know what to expect. One thing is for sure though, the moment is real.
We did a photoshoot before the ceremony in and around the castle courtyards since the weather was perfect and ideal for a photoshoot. During the ceremony, one of the highlights was their dog bringing the rings to them much to the excitment and laughter of everyone. Watching a dog walking down the aisle with rings attached can be delightful, but also potentially unpredictable. Lucikly everything went smooth and no rings were lost. Overall a beautiful wedding with lots of love and laughter.
