The middle of summer in the Netherlands can be very unpredictable…warm sunny days or rain showers when you least expect them. But for Nick and Chiara’s wedding, the weather was just perfect. The sun was out all day and the temperature was just right, allowing for a wonderful outdoor wedding at one of my favorite castles in the Netherlands, Kasteel Henkenshage.
After getting dressed, Chiara’s father came in to see her daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. This special moment was full of emotions and tears of joy. I love these moments as a photographer, emotion is pure. Nick then arrived with the bouquet for the first look as Chiara was anxiously waiting. After checking each other out, we all headed out for some photos nearby in the town before heading to Kasteel Henkenshage. The ceremony took place in the back of the castle and all the guests sat on stones neatly spaced apart on the grass. The view of the castle in the background was spectacular and Nick and Chiara sat on the bridge overlooking the water lilies.
Following the ceremony, everyone toasted to the newlyweds and it was time to relax under the sun. We took some family photos as well as a group photo with the castle as a backdrop. After drinks and a fabulous dinner, Nick and Chiara finished their day off with some photos at sunset. Enjoy the photos!
