I have traveled quite a bit around the Netherlands for weddings. In fact I’ve seen more of this country than most Dutch people have, it’s true. But Ans and Arjen’s wedding took me to a land unknown to me…the furthest north I’ve been to in this country…in the province of Friesland, where they speak a different language called Frisian. Luckily for me, they also spoke Dutch and English (and very well I must add). They are an awesome couple and I had such a great time sharing this day with them.
They got married at Lokaal 55 in the city of Sneek, sporting their sunglasses and enjoying the warm summer heat. Actually it was not warm…who am I kidding? It was HOT. So hot that the fathers of the bride and groom changed into shorts. Ok I have to admit, I was a bit jealous. But no heat was going to stop everyone from having a great time!
